Intermittent 500 Errors (plesk windows servers) All the latest from Hosting UK
- 11/06/2019 9:13 AM
Over the past few days we have been alerted to a number of clients repeatedly getting 500 errors on their sites.
Errors in the logs suggest a PHP memory issue:
2019-06-10 14:11:56 PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 7809642394472963224 bytes)
As far as we are able to tell this specifically only impacts PHP 7.2 on Windows Plesk servers. We have raised this with Plesk directly who have investigated and confirmed this is a bug with PHP: https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360024306453-PHP-errors-after-Plesk-update-PHP-Fatal-error-Allowed-memory-size-of-536870912-bytes-exhausted-tried-to-allocate-999999999999-bytes-
Switching the PHP Version of the site to either 7.1 or 7.3 should resolve any issues. You can do this in plesk Under PHP Settings for the site in plesk:
